Senior Systems Engineer

Primary Function:
As a senior technical staff member, work directly with Account Managers (Sales Team) to develop sales strategies within assigned client base. Develop and maintain strong technical expertise in products and solutions. Provide consultation to client’s executive management as well as their technical staff.

A Senior Systems Engineer must be able to understand the client’s business and technical requirements, translate those requirements and architect a solution to meet the client’s needs.  The Senior Systems Engineer must be able to develop the scope of work and estimate the level of effort required for implementation for complex projects. While engaged in a project, the Senior Systems Engineer owns the technical and executive client contact during detailed design and implementation to address changes in client requirements and to ensure customer requirements are met by the delivery team.

    Qualify and respond to product and service solutions requirements
    Drive initiatives that impact the ongoing technical relationship with customers and prospects
    Recognized as knowledgeable in a broad range of technologies, expert in one or more

Qualifications
    Bachelor's (undergraduate) degree or equivalent experience preferably in technical field
    Strong technical knowledge ( Storage Area Networks, Network Attached Storage, UNIX, Windows Server,     and/or Linux operating systems, Managed Services in Data Center environment, Server Hardware,     Networking, Mission Critical - High Availability Concepts)
    MCSE Certification, HP certifications desired
    Ability to develop and design system architectures based on customer requirements
    Strong sales & negotiation skills
    Proven customer facing skills
    Ability and willingness to motivate and support other Systems Engineers
    Resilience and resourcefulness when solving complex problems
    Ability to present proposals persuasively
    Excellent team skills
    5-7 years experience in similar position or role
    8-10 years experience in Information Technology environment.  

Additional Skills Required
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) to all management levels within customer organization. Ability to identify key decision makers and project supporters.
    Ability to listen carefully and extract key issues
    Solid project management skills/experience
    Workshop facilitation with executive level participation
    Ability to socialize and generate consensus for new ideas and to overcome resistance
    Teaching, training, coaching and mentoring skills
